Delivering Beyond The Gate
Shortlisted to participate in New Grafton Correction Centre (NGCC) Request for Proposal, the Greater Futures Partnership brings together world’s best practice prison experience with local construction and equity partners.
The Greater Futures Partnership (including Sodexo, Plenary, Watpac) believe that the NGCC will generate community partnerships and maximise the economic and social benefits for Grafton, northern NSW region and broader NSW community.
As part of our commitment to create long-term economic opportunities locally through the procurement of goods and services, we are inviting local industry to register their interest in providing products, trades or services during construction and/or operations of the NGCC.
NGCC will be the major multifunctional, regional correctional complex servicing the northern part of NSW. In particular, it will be the primary correctional facility for corrections operations from the Queensland border in the north, to Kempsey in the southeast and Tamworth in the southwest.
Infrastructure NSW (INSW), on behalf of Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW), a division of the Department of Justice (DOJ) is the agency responsible for the procurement and delivery of the Project. The Project will transfer to the Department of Justice at the completion of the Delivery Phase.
A Project steering committee has been established to provide strategic direction for the Project, with members representing the following agencies:
- NSW Department of Justice
- Corrective Services NSW
- NSW Treasury
- NSW Department of Hetalth
- Infrastructure NSW
- NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet
The Project is located approximately 12 kilometres southeast of Grafton on a site accommodating 1,700 beds.
It will feature state-of-the-art security and surveillance as well as advanced rehabilitation services. The new complex will deliver hundreds of jobs to the region during construction and operations.
The Greater Futures Partnership aims to maximise the direct and in-direct benefits to the local and regional community through the following:
- Local industry participation
- Economic and social enhancements
- Training and skills development
- Jobs and career pathways
- Community involvement
Greater Futures Partnership is committed to developing a local engagement strategy that maximises opportunities and outcomes for the local community and creates a legacy of economic and social benefits for the region.
